Welcome!
The Hmong Association of Long Beach, Inc, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1981. It's mission at the beginning was a Mutual Assistance Organization to serve the growing Hmong refugees immigrating from Southeast Asia. Today, with little to no influx of new Hmong refugees from Southeast Asia, the Hmong Association main mission is to help preserve our rich cultural heritage and pass it on to the next generation, inspiring the youths to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world.
Today, the Hmong Association provides teaching of Hmong culture through various classes and workshops held every Sunday at the Homeland Cultural Center. Classes and workshops are giving in the following disciplines: Hmong cultural dances, paj ntaub (needlework), qeej (musical instrument), reading and writing Hmong. These classes and workshop are designed to provide exposure to various facets of the Hmong culture, helping Hmong youths learn various artistic skills and disciplines while providing a safe haven to gather and engage in socialization and discussion of cultural preservation.
We hope you stay awhile and discover what the Hmong Association of Long Beach, Inc. mission and goals are all about!
Sincerely,
Wang Leng Xiong
